At Bafang's electronics workshop, women make up a significant proportion of the workforce. They are operators focused on details, team leaders guiding production lines, and newcomers learning and growing.
Every solder joint, every assembly step, every inspection demands intense concentration and patience. On the constantly moving production lines, the heart of our eBike intelligence—controllers, displays, and other precision components—takes shape. And here, women are defining their own place in manufacturing.
Who Is She?
If we had to describe them in a few words: resilience, responsibility, precision, collaboration, and growth.
Some have spent years on the line, growing from operators to team leaders. Others are just starting their careers, discovering their direction through daily practice. Outside work, they live at their own pace. Some unwind through sports, others through reading. A few love cooking and sharing snacks with colleagues. These small passions keep their energy flowing and bring warmth to the team.
Regardless of experience, their understanding of work and life shares common ground: self-worth, fulfillment, commitment, dependability, warmth, sincerity—simply being themselves.
For Wang Qi, a recent intern, the electronics workshop is where she's taking her first steps. In just a few months, she's learned to handle most positions on the line. "Whenever the line needs me, I can step in. Being someone the team can count on—that's my biggest sense of achievement."
Her Growth
Working on the line means staying focused—and constantly improving.
One of Liu Xia's most memorable challenges was bringing inline wiring—previously outsourced—in-house. At the time, the team had almost no experience with the process. They had to learn as they went. She visited suppliers with colleagues from procurement and quality to study their methods. When drawings were incomplete, they measured and calculated repeatedly. When processes were unstable, they reviewed and refined.
After multiple rounds of trials and adjustments, the line eventually established a mature in-house process. It not only reduced costs but also shortened delivery times. Through this experience, Liu became more convinced: a woman's attention to detail and persistence can play a key role in technical breakthroughs.
For Wang Qi, growth came in smaller moments. Once, during a soldering task, she accidentally knocked off a tiny component from a light module. Nervous, she braced herself for criticism. But a colleague beside her simply said: "Give it to me. I'll fix it." In that moment, her anxiety lifted—and she understood what teamwork really means. It's in this kind of environment that she's gradually become someone who can take on responsibility independently.
Her Impact
In many people's minds, manufacturing is still seen as a male-dominated field. But at Bafang, women are a driving force behind progress. Focused, resilient, and passionate, they bring strengths that are hard to replace. Their keen attention to detail often helps catch quality risks early. Their patience and sense of responsibility keep complex processes running smoothly. Their ability to communicate and collaborate makes teams work better.
Behind every stable production line, behind every eBike drive system that performs reliably on the road, is their dedication to refining the small things. And it's those small things that ultimately determine product reliability—and the rider's experience.
Just as meaningful is the connection between experienced hands and newcomers. Wang Qi looks up to Gao, a manager in the workshop. "She's decisive and meticulous at work, but warm and genuinely caring outside it," Wang says. "She's the kind of person I want to become." She hopes that ten years from now, she'll be "capable at work, and still passionate about life."
Liu Xia, in turn, shares her thoughts with younger colleagues: "Don't be afraid of hard work. Build solid skills. Take initiative—and don't struggle alone. Believe in yourself. Our attention to detail, our patience, our ability to empathize—these are our unique strengths in the workplace."
In Bafang's electronics workshop, this kind of honest, empowering connection passes from one generation to the next.
This International Women's Day, we celebrate every woman who works with dedication, grows with courage, and shines in her own way.
