The 9th Bafang EPAC Technical Exchange Conference recently concluded successfully. We continued our in-depth, door-to-door communication approach, with our technical and sales teams collaborating to conduct face-to-face discussions and sharing sessions with partners from various regions. Bafang remains committed to a pragmatic and focused philosophy, returning to the essence of technology and concentrating on two core pillars: product innovation and reliability enhancement. We persistently assist our partners in improving product competitiveness and achieving steady growth.
Product Innovation & Reliability as the Foundation
At the exchange, we showcased our mid-drive motors, hub motors, and the GVT automatic shifting drive system, which have received high praise in European and American markets. The introduction included systems like the M510/M560/M820 designed for different scenarios, the M430 system suitable for commercial cargo applications, and the H730 automatic 3-speed shifting system specifically built for urban commuting. Also unveiled was the newly upgraded Bafang Go App. This version simplifies complexity, focusing on optimizing the new user registration process, eBike binding steps, and enhancing personalized parameter settings and compatibility across multiple drive system versions. Particularly noteworthy is the greatly simplified new user registration, allowing even novice users to complete it effortlessly within 30 seconds.
Reliability is the consistent lifeline of Bafang products. Taking the M410 system, popular among touring bike models, as an example, its outstanding performance has led many European clients to extend its application to high-intensity scenarios like food delivery and express services. To adapt to harsher environments, we have further strengthened its waterproof structure:
- Adding a step surface to end covers, constructing a stronger sealing barrier.
- Reducing the gap between gears and end covers, effectively blocking mud and water intrusion.
- Adding oil seals to comprehensively resist water and dust, protecting internal critical components.
These meticulous improvements for demanding operating conditions significantly enhance motor reliability in environments of continuous rain or high-pressure water splash, helping end-user eBikes extend maintenance cycles, reduce failure rates, and thus optimize overall operating costs.
To ensure product performance is fully realized at the end-user level, we extend technical support deeply into the assembly process. For crucial yet easily overlooked details such as disc brake screw installation for hub motors, protector plate installation for V-brake models, and dust cover assembly for GVT shifting products, our technical team provided detailed explanations and on-site demonstrations, tangibly assisting partners in improving the consistency and quality of complete eBike assembly.
Simplifying Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) & Expanding Possibilities
During exchanges, partners noticed Bafang's product workbook is becoming "thinner." Behind this is our internally promoted platform-based and modular product strategy aimed at reshaping production efficiency and optimizing the supply chain—reducing the total number of component part numbers, improving product turnover efficiency, and shortening delivery cycles.
Reducing SKUs does not mean reducing customer choice. For instance, in the past, if a partner needed a product with 10 features but the standard product only supported 8, customization would be initiated, leading to a continuous increase in part numbers. Now, when a partner needs 15 features, our standard products come pre-equipped with 20 features, sufficiently covering the demand. We retain the capability to provide customized solutions but will fundamentally control the growth of SKU by enhancing product versatility and compatibility, focusing on refining and stabilizing our products.
For clients, this means Bafang can respond flexibly to diverse market demands with more efficient and rich standard product combinations, helping avoid homogeneous competition. By increasing the functional integration and compatibility of standard products, the partners can obtain solutions that exceed expectations without undergoing complex customization processes, thereby significantly reducing decision-making costs, shortening delivery times, and optimizing inventory management.
